Large Lap - 72” X 72”

Supplies Students bring:

Sewing Machine in good working order

Basic sewing kit – scissors, pins, needles, thread, etc.

Fabric clips or safely pins to hold strips together

Pattern – “Rail in a Rail”

Cutting board, rotary cutter, cutting ruler

Fabric for the 72” X 72” quilt

.5 metres of three fabrics that coordinate – light, medium and dark ( small rails)

1.6 metres of three fabrics that coordinate – light, medium and dark ( long rails)

This is a very fun and quick quilt.

This project is an easy strip quilt. The smaller rail strips are sewn together and then cut to make small squares that will be added to one long rail strip in various lengths to make a full rail.

Six sewn rails will be sewn together to make a larger square. Four finished squares are sewn together to make the Baby Crib with an outside border.

Four baby crib squares are sewn together to make the finished large lap quilt.
